Thorngumbald Primary School has a dedicated and dynamic Governing Body who oversee the strategic direction for the school. The achievement and personal well-being of all pupils is central to their vision.

Governors are appointed to:

• Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
• Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff.
• Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.

Becoming a Governor

Being a Governor is a voluntary role but very rewarding. The Governing Board are currently looking to recruit two Parent Governors. Parent Governors are appointed by election, this helps to ensure that boards stay accessible and connected to the community they serve and that there is always a diverse range of perspectives around the table to support robust decision making.
