Friends of Thorngumbald School
Friends of Thorngumbald School is a group of parents and staff that volunteer their time and energy to make a difference for the children of Thorngumbald Primary School.
What do we do?
We raise money throughout the school year via Winter, Summer and Autumn discos. Along with other planned events.
The money raised helps provide for all those like extras like:
- Paying for Year 6 Leavers Hoodies.
- Christmas and Easter Craft Activities.
- Play Equipment.
- Music and STEM Equipment.

Parent Helpers
New members are always needed and welcomed – just turn up at any of our meetings, contact any of the committee members in the playground or via the school office.
We encourage all parents and members of the family to share and help in school. We actively promote strong partnerships between home and school. Parents help with many activities throughout the school year.
If you would like to dedicate time in classes you will need to complete our Volunteers in School Application Form and undergo a check by the Disclosure and Barring Service, please ask a member of staff in the school office for the Volunteer form. All members of staff who are appointed to work in school must have an enhanced check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
